Sunset Point Renovation

Sometimes, a small house on a fantastic oceanfront property only needs to be “tweaked” in order to transform it from a mundane house into something spectacular. This house is a case in point. Due to limitations on the amount and location of allowable expansions, most of the design concentrated on making more of what was already there.

Additions were limited to a new three-season porch and increasing the size of the living room by four feet (and adding larger windows). As a result, the house now takes advantage of stellar views from a unique point of land on Casco Bay.

The stairway was reconfigured, quirky corners and windows kept (and added), the kitchen updated, and new lighting was designed throughout. Even the existing basement was painted white, including the exposed floor joists in the ceiling, and made into a billiard room.
