Presumpscott River Residence

A new residence on the banks of the Presumpscot River, this shingle style home is situated on a narrow site bounded by a seasonal brook on one side and the neighbor’s driveway on the other.

The design of this house addressed the Owner’s desire for an open plan flooded with light. Views from each space were carefully considered.

The formal entry, with its covered porch is located at the end of the house rather than the typical location – in the middle of the front facade, where it would rarely be used. A cobble-stoned guest parking area is directly in front of the porch. The three-car garage is oblique to the street to minimize its mass and to avoid a direct view of the garage doors from the street.
